About Me

Hi there! I’m Kristin, the writer of this blog. I am married to my high school sweetheart and together we are raising our family in the mitten state (that’s Michigan, for all of you who don’t know how to use your hand as a map in Michigan:). We are a foster adopt family and live a life of (hopefully controlled) chaos.

This blog will be a mixture of my passions, a look inside my head if you will. If we were sitting across the table from each other, sipping a hot drink, you’d quickly find out what makes me tick.

Foster care, adoption and orphan care in general is undoubtedly God’s call on my life. I am pursuing my masters degree in Social Work and look forward to working in the field. My heart beats and breaks for the sake of the orphan.

I am a mom to hard kids. Trauma tends to do that. I am constantly learning and experimenting the best way that I can care for the children that God has placed in my care.

Essential oils have changed the way I think about chemicals in my home and in our bodies. I continue to learn more about how to live a toxic free life (or at least drastically minimizing the toxins).

Other things that you should know about me: I am an avid fan of naps. I practice them as much as possible. My happy place is a beach. I am an introvert and a 4 on the ennegagram. I am obsessed with boxers (the dog, not the underwear).

My hope is that this blog will come alongside of you wherever you are, and challenge you step out in faith, equip you with the tools needs and draw you closer to Jesus in the process.
